Meet Kristi Schwisow
Founder and Director
Kristi and her husband, Curtis, have four children ages 12 to 22 years old. Their homeschool journey began 18 years ago when their oldest son entered Kindergarten. Homeschooling has provided their family with the opportunity to learn and grow together. They have found the gift of time and the opportunity to pursue their passions to be the greatest blessings of homeschooling.
Kristi is a longtime educator with over 18 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in both traditional public schools and homeschool charter programs. As more families have turned to homeschooling for their child’s education, she saw the need to serve the local homeschool community. Kristi founded Acorns & Arrows Learning Community to continue living out her passion to encourage and inspire homeschooling families within the context of a supportive community. What started with 40 students and five adventurous instructors has now grown to nearly 200 students and 14 staff members serving families on the Central Coast of California. She is honored to come alongside homeschooling families to equip parents, inspire learners, and cultivate this beautiful A&A community.

Wendy and her husband, Nick, have four children, and she will soon be a first-time grandmother! She has homeschooled her children for 15+ years both independently and through various charter schools. Wendy has served her community as a homeschool enrichment program director for the past four years. She and her husband also volunteer in various ministries at their church. In her free time, Wendy enjoys reading, gardening, and being outdoors.
Our team at Acorns & Arrows Learning Community is committed to excellence. We are passionate about education and bring this enthusiasm into everything we do. By taking a hands-on, collaborative approach, our staff encourages creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and character development. Our mission is to inspire our students to become life-long learners.
